This scholarship fund, which will provide support to students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Plant Biology, stands as a testament to Dr. Russell Malmberg's commitment to the education and training of students throughout his 32-year career at UGA. Russell was a talented and creative scientist as well as an award-winning teacher. Known for his sharp wit, wry sense of humor, and caring demeanor, he consistently inspired students in both the classroom and laboratory. During the latter part of his career, Russell also took on, and excelled at, administrative roles within both the Department of Plant Biology and the Franklin College of Arts & Sciences. These efforts served to amplify his impact by facilitating the success of like-minded colleagues who shared his deep commitment to academic excellence.
