Research Interests:

I am interested in the evolutionary consequences of gene flow between species of the carnivorous pitcher plant genus Sarracenia. I plan on using phylogenomic and population genetic approaches to elucidate questions such as: How frequent is interspecific gene flow? How does speciation occur in the face of interspecific gene flow and how are species being maintained? What are the effects of interspecific gene flow on genetic diversity and fitness in small populations, e.g. in threatened or endangered species of Sarracenia?
