Congratulations to Katrien Devos and Anny Chung (UGA Plant Biology) and their collaborators Jeff Bennetzen and Jonathan Arnold (UGA Genetics) and Nancy Johnson (Northern Arizona University) who were awarded more than $11 million from the Department of Energy (DOE) to study sustainable bioenergy production. They will study how sorghum grass can be grown as a feed stock on marginal lands, not traditionally suitable for growing food, to yield greater crop productivity and survival in stressful environments.

DOE Genomic Sciences Program - Systems Biology Research to Advance Sustainability Crop Development Award. Title of Project: Systems analysis of the beneficial associations of sorghum with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi studied with genetics, genomics, imaging and microbiomics.
