Image: On Monday, students, faculty, and staff from the Plant Biology Department gathered outside the Miller Plant Sciences Building to witness the highly anticipated solar eclipse. Ethan Baldwin, a PhD candidate in the Leebens-Mack lab, brought out his telescope for everyone to safely view the eclipse close up. Although Athens experienced an approximately 85% eclipse, not reaching totality, observers still noticed a significant darkening of the sky and a slight drop in temperature. We're already looking forward to the next partial eclipse in Athens on January 28th, 2028! Photo Credit: Emma Chandler
