Dr. Jeffery Cannon, who earned his PhD in this department in 2016, has accepted a position as Forest Management Scientist at the Joseph W. Jones Ecological Research Center in southwest Georgia. Jeff came to UGA after earning his B.S.

Ella Vardeman, a PBIO undergraduate graduating this Spring, was accepted into the Biology PhD program at the City University of New York! She has accepted the offer and will be working with Dr. Ina Vandebroek (New York Botanical Garden) and Dr. Edward Kennelly (CUNY).

Sarah Saddoris, a third-year PBIO major and PBIO Undergraduate Ambassador, is one of four UGA students to be recognized as a 2019 Barry Goldwater Scholar. This is the highest undergraduate award of its type for the fields of natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering.

Congratulations to Juan Angulo, a PBIO undergraduate, who has received a summer internship at the Chicago Botanic Garden. This NSF-funded 10-week long internship revolves around a project Juan will be conducting by a grad student and his mentor at Northwestern University.
